DC and AC current shunts from 5A to 50000A |

The CTH sensors convert dc current to an isolated voltage output, the CTHR sensors convert ac current to a dc output signal proportional to the Arms. All popular process control voltage and current loop outputs are available. Through hole or split core options mean that connection is non-intrusive and straightforward. The available input range of the CTH sensors is any value from 5A to 6000Adc. Optional dc offset control allows nulling of residual dc current to ensure best use of the output span. The sensor power input is designed to operate over a wide voltage range associated with process control and sub-station auxiliary dc supply systems. Active Hall Effect sensor technology allows measurement from DC-100kHz (>400A 25kHz) along with a fast step response. The CTH can be used to provide an instantaneous output for ac currents. Typical applications are found in process control systems like PLC or SCADA, transportation, telecommunications, dc drives, welding and circuit breaker trip coils. For all CTH models, a NIST/NPL (UKAS) traceable calibration certificate and certificate of conformance is supplied.

Verification of large dc currents
A wide range of high quality current shunts from 5A to 50,000A with 0.25% accuracy specification for most models and optional 0.1% on request. The range is available in single or multi element configurations, with and without mounting base. DC current shunts produce a voltage (mV) proportional to the current flowing through the device, industry standard mV models are available, the mV/A relationship can also be specified by the user. Mechanically the current shunts are robust, constructed with low temperature coefficient manganin sense elements, designed to withstand over-current, over-temperature and mechanical stresses. As standard and where applicable, the shunts are supplied with high quality brass connection hardware, brass sense terminal screws. Anti-corrosive/anti-tarnishing agents are applied to help maintain good electrical contact, if requested, an optional silvered flash finish can be applied. Traceable calibration test certificates to NRC (Canada), NIST (USA) and SI (Systeme International) and statements of conformance are available on request.
